The library is a special library focusing on neuroscience research. As a combined library of the theoretical institutes it brings together under one roof the collections (books and journals) of the LIN and the theoretical institutes of the Medical Faculty of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg. For this reason it is one of the site libraries of the Medical Central Library.
