The Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology (IfN) is a research institution dedicated to the study of the mechanisms of learning and memory. The IfN is a member of the Leibniz Association (WGL) and constitutes a main pillar of the neurosciences in Magdeburg. In February 2005, the first European 7Tesla magnetic resonance tomograph was officially opened.
